2020 has been an historically horrible year that couldn’t end fast enough! So we created the ABN AMRO MeesPierson Advent Calendar to count down the last days of 2020 in a fun way.

To adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic, ABN AMRO MeesPierson Private Banking has had to work in new ways

This demands a lot from its employees, who have had to step out of their comfort zones, anticipate and proactively deal with change and uncertainty. In recent months, ABN AMRO MeesPierson and its employees have proven their flexibility and dedication to successfully cope with change, ensuring the highest standards of service for their clients. And that should be rewarded!

The brief

The bank’s 2020 holiday party was cancelled, so they asked BrandBase to come up with an out-of-the-box way to thank their 1,700 employees who have achieved so much in a hard year.

Concept

2020 has been an historically difficult year that couldn’t end fast enough!

We created the ABN AMRO MeesPierson Advent Calendar to count down the last days of 2020 in a fun way. The calendar gave employees a way to end 2020 with 20 joyful moments of inspiring content—meaningful questions, a great Spotify playlist, and small assignments designed to stimulate dialogue and reflection.

But we also designed physical items like herbs for a recipe, a customised postal stamp for a card to send someone who could use some extra attention, and a die with pawns used to play an end-of-year game. This creative board game could be played after all the boxes in the calendar had been turned around. A multi-purpose and sustainable gift! And during an interactive Pub Games session during the virtual party, employees could play the game in teams together, making the online end-of-year party as ‘gezellig’ as possible under the circumstances. It was a hit!
